Biel is a Mallorcan marine biologist with 30 years of experience in marine research, focusing on the conservation of marine resources in the Balearic Islands. He is particularly passionate about elasmobranchs (sharks, skates, and rays) and has contributed to the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Biel co-founded Save the Med to advance his commitment to marine conservation.
