Administrative Accountant


Save the Med is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Administrative Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Your responsibilities will include a variety of administrative and accounting tasks, from data entry to report generation, contributing to the overall financial health and transparency of the Foundation.


Responsibilities


Administrative Tasks:

  • Manage daily office operations and maintain organised files, records, and documentation.

  • Coordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries and communications.

  • Assist in preparing reports, justifications, proposals, and presentations.

  • Support the planning and coordination of events for the Foundation’s activities.

  • Maintain relationships with partners, stakeholders, and suppliers.


Accounting Tasks:

  • Process daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management.

  • Assist in managing the Foundation’s budget, including monitoring expenses and income.

  • Oversee and manage bank accounts, and perform bank reconciliations.

  • Assist with tax filings, payroll processing, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Support annual audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles and with the Foundation’s policies and regulations.



Requirements and Competencies


  • Vocational Training qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferably a university degree).

  • Proven experience in administrative and accounting support roles (preferably more than two years).

  • Fluency in Spanish and B2 level in spoken and written English.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency with accounting software (preferably A3ERP Plus) and the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in work.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of non-profit organisations and fundraising strategies will be highly valued.
